Access to ICR Heroes

How is access given to ICR Heroes?

ICR Heroes is a mandatory inclusion to the Pre-Reading / Prep courses for ICR students, made available automatically from Term 3 in 2021 in Singapore.

When students are promoted to the next Pre-Reading course (as recommended through the usual procedure of in-class transition tests conducted by the teacher), they will gain automatic (but gated) access to the skills pertaining to the next course, whilst retaining their progress in the previous skills completed.

For how long will students have access to ICR Heroes?

Subscription to ICR Heroes is automatic if the student is enrolled in a phonological awareness course at ICR.

Access details will be sent to parents to the email address registered with ICR.

Students will have access to ICR Heroes as long as they are enrolled at ICR until they are promoted to the Reading course.

What if I forget the username / password?

Username is the ICR Student number (sgxxxxxx) in lowercase. Password, if forgotten, can be reset with these simple steps:
1. Access the ICRO platform: https://icronline.icanread.asia/moodle/

2. Click the Forgotten your Student ID (username) or password link.

3. Type your email in the Email address box or the student ID in the username textbox and click Search:

A password reset email will be sent from ICRO Admin.

 

On what device can my child access ICR Heroes?

Keeping in mind that the target audience for ICR Heroes is young children, ICR Heroes has been designed to be accessible from mobile devices.

You can use your smartphone or tablet to access https://icronline.icanread.asia/moodle from any web browser.

Is there any software requirement? Will I have to download any special app or software?

ICR Heroes is hosted on our eLearning Platform I Can Read Online (ICRO) which is accessible through any web browser.

Speakers should be enabled on the web browser so the student can hear the voiceover.

 

Support

Will teachers guide students if they have problems in the course?

ICR Heroes is designed with an intuitive interface that is easy for young children to use without much help.

Voiceover and audio prompt help guide them to complete the games successfully.

ICR Heroes is having difficulty loading. What should I do?

Please check your internet connection and make sure your web browser and device are up to date with the latest versions. Please note we are unable to provide device technical support.
